INDULGE IN EXCITEMENT - THINGS TO SEE & DO IN SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER CITY, LA

Shreveport-Bossier City is the destination for the traveler who wants a bit of everything – all for a reasonable price and with great weather thrown in. Our area offers an impressive range of Shreveport-Bossier City entertainment. Many of the Shreveport-Bossier City attractions and top hotels have been featured in national publications and on television, but there is so much more to be discovered.

Sci-Port Discovery Center has been a popular Shreveport attraction for many years and is now home to the world’s very first open-access, interactive planetarium. Meeting planners can arrange special showings here, while families and individuals on vacation can drop in for hours of family fun, including an epic movie experience in the state’s only domed IMAX theater.

The Gardens of the American Rose Center attract nature lovers as well as those who just like to see nature’s artistry. With more than 30,000 roses spread over 40 gardens, this is a popular Shreveport-Bossier City attraction for locals and visitors alike. If you’re looking for just the right location for a special event, or if you simply want to revel in our Southern charm, the gardens are a must-see.

Shreveport-Bossier City has a permanent place in musical history, and you can touch it when you visit the Municipal Auditorium and its Stage of Stars and Legends Music Museum. This 1920s-style art deco building was the launching pad for some of the world’s biggest musical acts, including Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, Jr., Jim Reeves, Johnny Cash, Kitty Wells, Slim Whitman and many more. Some other great places to experience include the Ark-La-Tex Museum Mardi Gras Museum, Artspace at the West Edge, and R.W. Norton Art Gallery just to name a few.

Our festivals, too, are a large part of our culture. From spring until fall, we put on some of the best parties around! Celebrate spring and the Louisiana Purchase at Holiday in Dixie. Grab a steaming dish of mudbugs and wash them down with something cool at May’s Mudbug Madness. Dance until you can’t dance anymore at June’s Let the Good Times Roll Festival, and fall in love with new artists at the colorful Red River Revel Arts Festival in October. And December’s Rockets Over the Red fireworks festival will really blow your socks off! But that’s just the tip of the iceberg - there are more festivals here than you can see in one lifetime. Festivals are big – with lots of great food, tons of Shreveport-Bossier City entertainment, and plenty of activities to keep you interested.

Indulge yourself in our Southern playground. Your most memorable vacation awaits you.
